Apple & Barley Bake

Ingredients

225g McKenzie's Pearl Barley

3 medium apples, peeled, cored & finely sliced

60g caster sugar

1 lemon, juiced

2 tsps McKenzie's Ground Cinnamon

20g butter
Instructions

Preheat oven to 175C.

Place barley and 3 cups of water into a saucepan and bring to the boil. Simmer for approximately 35 minutes until tender. Drain.

Add apples, sugar, lemon juice and cinnamon to barley.

Pour into lightly greased 5 cup capacity ovenproof dish.

Dot with butter, cover with foil and bake for 1 hour.
